Make sure lot number match and not all 4 ply is the same thickness of red heart yarn
The product is good first off. But the 4 ply is thicker than the previous Red Heart product I was trying to match it to. Even though it is the same color variant Mulberry mix, it is slightly off from my previous purchase but then again I blame Covid for that problem. I bought only 2 skeins thinking I would make a scarf eventually during lock down but did not. In the meantime now I found a pattern more suitable for a blanket or afghan and decided to start into it. I did and liked how it looked so I had to get enough to make it 60 inches long minimum and tried to find the lot number I needed but was unsuccessful. So I settled for getting the closest color match I could. It is slightly darker in nature. I am hoping that since it is a variable yarn color that the eye will be fooled into thinking it is the same. My advice buy enough for your stash of your color lot to make a big project. Minimum 6 skeins or 8 skeins. You can always make a hat or a scarf with the leftover yarn but you can not make a blanket. It is not a loss but a lesson learned. I am continuing the blanket and I am sure no one will know or see the difference. It was my choice to buy a different lot number and my choice to make something more than I planned to make.with the yarn I had purchased a few years back.
